I was hoping to start 2013 with the blog all caught up and the plan was to do a post for each month I have left--October, November, and December.
Fall Break in Georgia
October 5-9, 2012
Lyla tried to teach Mimi how to play Angry Birds
Cousins, Jared and Lyla
Playing dolls with Jennifer
Aunt Sara loved snuggling Rex
So glad to spend some time with Allen, Sara, and Jennifer
We were the closest cousins in age and have lots of memories growing up together.
Thankful we still stay in touch.
Lyla wowed everyone with her magic!
DDaddy babysat while I had lunch with a friend.
He is the best DDaddy...Rex didn't care that his pants were on backwards.
DDaddy bought donuts, of course. Sprinkles for his Lyla.
Have you heard the one about the girl who got her hair sucked into an air mattress pump?
Her sister saved the day by gently untangling it from the motor and using conditioner to comb it out.
No emergency haircut needed and only this ball of hair lost!
Only me.
Cincinnati Zoo
October 11, 2012
The larger our playgroup gets, the more impossible "group pictures" are becoming
Lyla had been asking to ride the train ALL DAY so she was pretty excited
Rex slept through most of the ride
He finally woke up and gave Maria (seated behind us) some grins
Such a fun day with my big girl and our friends!
Prince Rex vs. The Spoon
Lyla thought Rex wanted to play dress-up...again. Poor kid.
We tried feeding Rex rice cereal back in October.
He was NOT impressed
We have since tried several different foods and they have all had the same reaction
He likes pushing the spoon away with his tongue. It's a fun game...for him.
The pictures are priceless, though.
**Fast forward to present day and he isn't doing much better. The nutritionist told us not to worry about it, just keep trying. I fed him baby food pears last night and he actually ate some of it! He wasn't thrilled at first, but he finally warmed up to it. I am optimistic that he is catching on.**
Martin Family Reunion
October 27, 2012
It was a cold day but we had lots of good food and fun!
Seth was glad to show off Rex to his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The original six: Grady, Steve, Pam, Anthony, Patty, and Dwight
Aliviah fell asleep on me, keeping us both warm.
She is just a month older than Rex and such a sweet girl!
These girls played hard all day
Lyla was asleep in no time
Halloween!
I found this really cool homemade Rapunzel braid on a blog...it looked simple enough.
Wrong. Not simple at all. Lyla started out helping me cut the yarn, but she didn't last long.
I actually had tape stuck to my floor for a couple of weeks and I would cut pieces here and there as I had time.
I got a good deal on the random flowers by cleaning out all the stray flowers in the Walmart Floral department. I got way more than I ended up needing but didn't pay much. Lyla still plays with the wig and all the extra flowers!
It was a cold Halloween so Rex stayed in with Seth.
Such a fun group!
Lyla did NOT want to wear her coat over her dress.
In the end, she chose to wear her coat over staying home.
Smart girl.
Going through their loot!
Modeling her braid
Rex was the cutest pea pod ever!!
This was after Halloween so her wig had slipped a little
This is one of my favorites!
Pretending the chair is her tower
That was our October! Looks like November & December will have to wait 'til next year...then I hope to get back on track and post consistently again.
