Service Sunday

Sunday, June 1
Once a year, our church, Catalyst Christian Church, goes out a serves the community instead of having a regular Sunday worship service. Last year, our family did yard work. We went a less labor-intensive route this year.
Lyla helped with the FREE car wash!

I pumped cheap gas. For 1 hour, Catalyst paid $0.25 of every gallon of gas.

 The Cheap Gas Team

The Free Car Wash Team

The owner of Bruster's next to the gas station gave each of the kids a free scoop of ice cream!

After serving in different places around the community, the whole church gathered for lunch and a carnival

I set the timer for a picture with my girl!

Ending May with Friends

Lyla and I spent Saturday afternoon laying out and relaxing in the sun.

Saturday evening was spent at the Shorts' house!

Erin was in town from Wisconsin
 We fed the neighbors' horses

 Carly Jo was so brave!

She was very happy with herself

Lyla tried to feed ALL the animals without leaving anyone out

 She even fed the goat

Dylan wasn't sure about the sprinkler, but then enjoyed it

 Lyla LOVES the sprinkler!

My long and lean girl with her swimmer's body

 Cornhole!

 Ern bonded with Rex...

...and shared her dessert with him.

 Sweet Carly Jo

 Aw, aren't they cute? Hahaha!

I will not be sad when Lyla outgrows her silly-face-for-every-picture phase

Rex's face is pretty funny in this one

 So thankful for these ladies!
p.s. My clothes are wet because Carly Jo placed her full cup of lemonade on my lap as if it were a table

We always pick up where we left off even if it's been months!

Memorial Day Weekend

Summer Kick-Off Party at the Hutchisons' House
Friday, May 23, 2014

Meet Thomas (named by Aiden) Thundercloud (named by Lyla).
He is Lyla's cat who lives at Aiden's house.

 Roasted hotdogs and s'mores

This dirt pile was a popular place to play--all the kids' clothing show it, too.

 Monkey-in-the-middle

They did a great job taking turns

Rex decided he did not want to sit in the grass and would pull his feet and legs up

 Jake was a cooperative model

I know Jake hasn't seen Zoolander, but he nailed the "Blue Steel" look.

These kiddos were ready for school to be OUT!

 Silly head

Like father...

And that was the last picture I took...that face.
