Papa's Birthday!

Papa was happy to share his birthday dessert with Rex.
Rex wasn't complaining either.

 Papa and his Grandkids!

He loved the beautiful card Lyla made him

He got a kick out of some of her details.

 Rex looks so handsome.
That's all I'll say about this picture.

Look at that big boy taking some steps!

I had already put his cup away so Granny shared

Rex was pretty tuckered out from the party.
This is how we find him most nights--his head up in the far corner of his crib.

Spring in March...go figure

March 15, 2014

Looking forward to spending lots of time outside with these two!

 Ah..

 ah...

 CHOO!

 Finally snapped it

We had a day lily sword fight

 Rex's lashes are so beautiful

so much gray and white

One of my favorite shots

Lyla took one to prove I was there, too

The only way to fly a kite is on a fishing pole

Daddy was fishing that day so we sent this picture to him saying,
"Lyla caught a Mermaid. Beat that."

It was a perfect Saturday!
Then it snowed Sunday and they had snow day #19 Monday.
Ugh.

Flashback Friday: December, Part 2

December 16, 2013

Each 1st Grade teacher had to choose a boy and a girl to be a snowman in their Winter Concert performance of "Snowman Jump." Lyla was excited to dress as a snowman!

She is the last snowman (in the striped scarf)

KK kept Rex so we could all see Lyla dance and jump!

Lyla was excited that Jamie could come

Some random December pictures...

Rex loves snuggling with Daddy. Seriously, he does. He's "Daddy's Boy."

OUR CHRISTMAS TREE
Every other year we set up a little tree instead of a big one.
I like our big tree, but I appreciate the off-years when we just have this one.

December 22, 2013

Our good friends, Sue & Eddie, kept the kids for us for a Christmas party. When a Chia Pet commercial came on, Lyla said, "I want one of those." Naturally, they just HAD to grant her wish. She was so excited!
We neglected it while we were in Georgia for Mom's funeral and it didn't make it.
We'll have to try again later. Much later.

After church, we celebrated Christmas early since we would be heading to Georgia

Jamie sang a solo at church that morning and it was just beautiful.

Jamie is into owls. Her favorite aunt just happens to have an owl collection in the attic.

 Papa's annual gift-a Hess truck
(gotta love Lyla's smile)

The photo calendar is a hit for the second year in a row

Seth doesn't suspect the gift that had been hidden behind him all afternoon

What does this smile tell you? Yeah, he was one happy fisherman.

A family photo before heading home from Granny & Papa's house

We let Lyla open one of her gifts from us early so the rocks could be tumbling while we were in Georgia

She enjoyed starting the process, but Seth pretty much did the rest.

Next Friday, PJ's first trip to Georgia!
